XXL Large Lock Padlock Metal 25 cm

European, most likely German. Made some time during the mid 17th Century or Early 18th (1650-1725). The lock measures about 4" at its longest, 2 1/2" at its highest and 1 1/2" at its widest. The key measures 5 3/4" long. From the collection of Bob Nelson, an avid lock collector during the 1950s and 60s, and one of the founding members of the locksmith association, ALOA. Part of his collection can be viewed at the Locksmith Museum of America in Terryville, CT.
